Asheville's European-Influenced Neighborhoods

What was once part of the Biltmore Estate and the surrounding village is now what makes up the historic area of South Asheville. Here you can find European-influenced architecture with stonework, post-and-beam walls, and high-pitched roofs.

This area features a variety of homes from townhouse-style condos and single-family homes within walking distance of the central community of shops, restaurants, and events.

South Asheville’s Biltmore Village was originally built to support the development and maintenance of the Biltmore House. Biltmore Village is located just minutes south of downtown Asheville in the triangle made by Hendersonville Rd, Sweeten Creek Rd, and Reed St. Today, this neighborhood is a must-visit for locals and tourists, alike. With its historic cottage-like design requirements, the retail, restaurants, and commercial buildings look and feel unique.

South Asheville’s Biltmore Park is simply a great place to live. This picturesque neighborhood is located less than 10 miles from downtown Asheville to the east of Route 26, north of Long Shoals Rd, and west of Hendersonville Rd. With beautiful homes and easy access to great shopping and restaurants, Biltmore Park is one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Asheville.

Beyond South Asheville, you’ll find some of the best communities for growing families and retirees. Arden (home to the Asheville Airport), Fletcher, Mills River, and Hendersonville straddle Route 26 on your way south from Asheville. On average, you’ll find more space and newer homes as you move into this area. Each of these commutable towns is less than 30 minutes from downtown.
