West Asheville’s Bent Creek neighborhood is a largely residential community southwest of downtown Asheville by about 10 miles or 15 minutes. Bent Creek borders the Blue Ridge Parkway and Pisgah State Park. Mountain bikers and hikers love the easy access to some of WNC’s finest trails. West Asheville’s Craggy Park is a sustainable neighborhood in one of the prime locations in all of Asheville. Patton Avenue borders it to the north, Haywood Road in the South, Route 240 to the East. The homes in Craggy Park represent some of the greenest homes in the city.

Historic West Asheville’s main attraction is Haywood Road. Running from the French Broad (Zillicoah) River to Patton Avenue, Haywood Road is considered one of Asheville’s main attractions. The roughly two and a half miles of Haywood Road in West Asheville are littered with some of Asheville's hippest retail shops, bars, restaurants, community centers, and residential homes. We always recommend driving Haywood Road and exploring the historic neighborhoods around it.

West Asheville’s Malvern Hills is one of the finest neighborhoods in the city. Located south of Patton Avenue and a few neighborhoods west of Haywood Road, Malvern Hills is small but mighty. In this family-friendly neighborhood, there is a community park and a community pool. The homes range from early and mid-century to new builds and new developments. Young families are always looking in and around Malvern Hills.

Beyond West Asheville, are some of the most beautiful views in the region. Enka Village, Canton, Candler, and Clyde are Asheville’s immediate neighbors as you follow Route 40 west from town. Pisgah National Forest borders these towns to the south.
